The Next Third Circuit Judicial Conference Will be May 13-15, 2020 in Philadelphia

The Third Circuit has scheduled the next Third Judicial Conference for May 13-15, 2020 at the Penn’s Landing Hilton in Philadelphia. As discussed here, the Court had previously announced a Spring 2020 Judicial Conference in Philadelphia, but now actual dates and location have been set.

This Judicial Conference will be open to attorneys, the first such Judicial Conference to be a “Bench-Bar” since 2017. The Third Circuit had been opening its Judicial Conferences to attorneys every other year for a period of time, but has now reverted to its previous practice of doing so every third year instead.

In addition to the opportunity of interacting with Third Circuit and District Judges, the Judicial Conference always offers a large quantity of high-quality CLE, taught by distinguished jurists and practitioners. Additional activities of interest have in the past included an address by a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. The Conference is well worth attending, so note the dates and location, and watch for further information on the Third Circuit’s website, and here.

Unfortunately for New Jersey practitioners, however, the dates for this Conference are the same dates on which the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting in Atlantic City is scheduled. That puts many of us to a difficult choice.
