The Appellate Division normally hears oral arguments in Newark, Trenton, Hackensack, and Morristown. Every so often, however, the Appellate Division takes its show on the road to other venues.
Today, it was announced that a panel consisting of Judges Messano, Guadagno, and Suter will hear oral arguments at the Monmouth County Courthouse in Freehold on December 13. The announcement states that twelve cases will be before that panel at that time. The calendar shows that all twelve cases are listed for oral argument, a larger than normal number. In order to accommodate that caseload, and unlike what is normally the case when fewer cases are scheduled for oral argument, arguments will occur not only throughout the morning but also in the afternoon.
This is an excellent opportunity for Monmouth County residents, and others who may not have seen the Appellate Division in action, to stop in and see an argument or two, or all twelve. The docket for that panel appears to contain a wide variety of cases, and there is likely to be something of interest to just about anyone.
