Electronic filing in the New Jersey appellate courts has been on the way for several years. Previous steps toward that end were discussed here and here.
Today, attorneys and firms who use the Judiciary Account Charge System (“JACS”) were notified that training for such attorneys in the use of the electronic filing system for the Appellate Division, which is known as NJ eDATA (“New Jersey Electronic Docketing of Appeals and Tracking Application”), will occur on various dates from May 27 through June 22 in Ewing, New Jersey. Training will be performed by the Appellate Division Clerk’s Office eFiling team, and continuing legal education credit will be available to those who take this training.
The notifications stated that this is phase 3 of the rollout of NJ eDATA. Access to NJ eDATA by JACS users will begin on June 29.
