The Senate Judiciary Committee this afternoon voted 11-2 to recommend to the full Senate that Chief Justice Rabner be granted tenure on the Supreme Court. The only negative votes came from Senators Michael Doherty (R-Warren) and Joseph Kyrillos (R-Monmouth). The vote followed three hours of questioning of the Chief Justice by Judiciary Committee members. Evidently, nothing new came out of the questioning, and there appears to be no reason why the Chief Justice should not be granted tenure when the full Senate takes up the issue.
